Ed McIntosh Career

McIntosh is working for KTVQ as a morning and noon meteorologist. Before KTVQ, he worked for Gap West Broadcasting as a morning meteorologist for 2 years. Furthermore, he worked as a morning personality at Townsquare Media for 4 years and a chief meteorologist for KULRKULR for over a decade.

While working as a DJ on a radio morning show, he received the chance to host the TV broadcast of a parade from his co-anchor who organized the events. After an accident with one of the floats, she was called away leaving him to fend for himself. For about the next 20 minutes, he talked about anything and everything to keep the event going. After a month, he was commissioned as a weekend weather guy. They figured that if he could babble about a parade that stopped, he could talk 3 minutes about the weather.

One day, he received a call from a contractor who asked whether or not it was a good day to pour cement. McIntosh then realized that giving a wrong answer would cost the contractor and his crew. Thus, he decided to return to school to get the necessary skills and knowledge to do his job correctly. That is where he found his true passion for the weather.

He is thrilled to serve the community where he and his wife were born and raised. After working in the industry for decades, he has learned that his job is to help people make decisions on everyday things like daily plans, what to wear, how to stay safe, take a trip, or whether or not to pour cement.
