From the Vatican, he covered the Pope’s health and reported the execution of a convicted killer live from Death Row. Other significant stories he reported include elections in Nicaragua and Venezuela, Hurricane Andrew, the invasion of Panama, political conventions, and the earthquake in Mexico City.
Rodriguez moderated the infamous “Fangate” debate between Charlie Crist and Rick Scott, Florida gubernatorial candidates, in the year 2014. He kept his composure as the 2 candidates disagreed over the use of a portable fan on stage, live on TV. Rodriguez is an active member of the Iron Arrow Honor Society.
