Erika Beras Career

Beras is an American journalist who serves as a reporter and host for NPR’s Planet Money podcast. She spent four years as a reporter at Marketplace before joining the team in 2021. She worked as a freelancer for Scientific American, contributing to their podcasts and reporting for NPR’s Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Latino USA. She also wrote for National Geographic and NewYorker.com and contributed to PRI’s The World, the BBC, and Monocle 24 Radio.

She formerly worked as a staff reporter for NPR Member station WESA and The Miami Herald for a decade. Her reporting has led her to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Switzerland, and Erie, Pennsylvania, among other places.
