She covered cities from coast to coast where she gained a comprehensive understanding of the Midwest tornado outbreaks, the East Coast hurricanes, blizzards in the northeast, and the nation’s weather – droughts in the west. Gonzalez had her first stint as a freelance meteorologist at the WCSH in Portland local news in Maine
Her passion for weather grew during South Florida’s Hurricane Andrew in 1992 which came barreling through the city. This was after her witnessing the hurricane’s devastating aftermath that she forewarned people of the impending natural disasters.
Later in the year 2013, she went back to South Florida where she worked at NBC6 as a weekend meteorologist. She later worked in South Florida as a freelance meteorologist prior to her tenure at WSVN 7 News. Aside from work, Gonzalez enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family and as much time out on the water as she can. She is also a spinning instructor and maintains an active, healthy lifestyle.
