His journey in the news industry began at a young age (while in the 5th grade) when he delivered newspapers for the Iron Mountain Daily News. During his college and high school years, he gained experience by working at radio stations in Mt Pleasant and Iron Mountain, Michigan. There, he took on roles as a DJ and newscaster.
While still in college, Loesch embarked on his TV career as a photographer and reporter at WWTV in Cadillac-Traverse City, Michigan. Continuing his progression, Loesch became a weekend anchor and later a morning anchor at WKBN in Youngstown, Ohio. After that, he made his way to WXYZ in Detroit, where he served as a reporter and occasionally filled in as an anchor.

They came across a deaf and physically impaired woman who was trapped in her car amidst the floodwaters. Despite not knowing how to swim, a brave police sergeant successfully saved her. Loesch and his photographer were the only ones who captured this incredible rescue on video, making it a truly remarkable and impactful story.
Loesch has been at the forefront of reporting major stories in Pittsburgh for 2 decades. He has anchored live coverage of significant events like the Tree of Life synagogue’s mass shooting and the Fern Hollow Bridge collapse. In the aftermath of various natural disasters such as winter storms, floods, and tornadoes, as well as incidents like presidential visits and house explosions, Loesch has been there to report live on the ground.
