She served as an executive member of the Foundation Ambassadors, was part of the East MS Chapter of the National Weather Association (NWA) and American Meteorological Society (AMS), was actively involved in Phi Mu, and acted as a Panhellenic Greek Counselor.
Having grown up locally, Dencausse has experienced firsthand the impact of active weather in her community. This exposure ignited her interest in meteorology and deepened her understanding of weather dynamics. Combining this fascination with her innate desire to assist others, Gracie saw a natural fit to pursue a career in broadcast meteorology. She recognized that by delivering accurate weather forecasts and providing crucial information during severe weather events, she could not only satisfy her curiosity but also fulfill her passion for serving her community and ensuring the safety and well-being of others.
