Gray Hall is an American of African ancestry journalist who works for WPVI-TV as the co-anchor of Action News at 10 on PHL17. He joined the Action News team in the December of 2015.

Hall serves WPVI as the co-anchor of Action News at 10 on PHL17. He joined the Action News team in December 2015. Prior to this, he served in Richmond, Virginia at WWBT-TV as the weekday morning anchor for 5 years.

And, he served as a reporter for WWBT’s consumer franchise, “On Your Side.” Not only did he take pride in providing newscasts but also in teaching the community about the latest scams and frauds. Also, he served the Virginia Commonwealth University as an adjunct professor.

Prior to WWBT, he served in Miami, Florida at WTVJ-TV as a reporter and a fill-in anchor. While in Miami, he broadcasted multiple big stories counting the Miami mortgage foreclosure tragedy and Fidel Castro’s renunciation as Cuba’s president. Additionally, he served in Charleston, South Carolina at WCBD-TV as a weekend anchor and a reporter for four years. While at WCBD, he gained the Green Eyeshade Award for a feature story.

Nonetheless, he debuted his broadcasting career when he served the CBS affiliate in Dallas, Texas, KTVT-TV as a production assistant. However, his on-screen job occurred when he left WABG-TV in Greenville, Mississippi.

While in Greenville, he served as the weekend anchor, and wrote, shot, edited, and produced his own stories and newscasts. In addition, he serves the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated as a member. When he is not working, he loves watching movies, traveling, and fishing.

Gray Hall Brain Surgery

On Sunday, October 22 2017 at about 12:34 p.m., Hall was rushed to the hospital after the producers behind the scenes and viewers around the region noticed that he was not ok. As he started stumbling and stammering over his words. In the wake of a sequence of tests done on him, a colloid cyst was discovered on his brain. Thus the doctors informed him that an emergency surgery had to be done.

The cyst, which he was aware of from a diagnosis a month earlier, had developed dramatically. Therefore, its growth was obstructing fluid from freely draining itself. Further, he underwent surgery that required a small incision to be made on his skull.

Succeeding its removal, bacterial meningitis set in, The meningitis is an unpleasant and painful infection that kept him hospitalized for about two more weeks. He had headaches that came and go and is recuperating.

“Health is wealth. You can have all the money in the world, but if you’re not healthy, what does it matter? Don’t dismiss any pain. Listen to your body, because your body is trying to keep you alive.” He voiced.
