Reitz lived in Nashville before migrating to Florida, where he worked as an anchor for WSMV in the mornings. He covered the tornadoes that wreaked havoc in Lincoln County, CMA Fest, and President Barack Obama’s visit. The Tennessee Associated Press Broadcasters recognized Reitz with the title of “Best TV Anchor.”
During his time in Nashville, Ian developed a passion for country music. In Tucson, El Paso, and Palm Springs, he anchors and reports. He formerly worked at KTSM in El Paso, where he investigated narcotics and people smuggling on a regular basis. He also tried salsa dancing and learned how to make enchiladas.
His first reporting job was at KMIR in Palm Springs, in another desert. Ian and his family are ecstatic to be based in Birmingham.
