Lisa has worked as a news anchor in Washington, Missouri, and Atlanta for more than a decade. Cruz, Lisa claims, was the one who made her miss her home. “I knew I wanted to be near my family again as soon as my husband and I decided to start a family. When we returned to Birmingham, my son was just two days old.”
Lisa is an Emmy Award-winning journalist who has toured the world covering some incredible stories throughout the course of her career.”The reports that I’m most proud of were written during my time in Iraq, just north of Baghdad. Meeting our country’s warriors and seeing how dedicated they were to their duties while yet missing their families gave me a new respect for the military.”
Lisa has also flown through the eye of a hurricane with the Blue Angels and the Hurricane Hunters, bungee jumped, and sky-dived for a good story. She’s now traded in her motorcycle for a stroller and is content to be back in her hometown doing the job she enjoys. Lisa enjoys carpentry, home renovation, and horseback riding in her spare time.
