She also produced the network’s memorable weather specials that include the most active hurricane in the United States which happened on September 2005 and also the F5 tornado commemoration anniversary that hit Jarrell on May 1997 in Texas. It was during Hurricane Rita McCauley had to travel to Houston for live coverage for it had moved onshore.

Just after McCauley had graduated from college, she was introduced to the Pacific Northwest when she agreed to serve the position of a morning meteorologist at KDRV in Medford, Oregon.
