Youngstown, Ohio was where he was born and raised in South Florida and this was where he gained interest in weather. After he was done with his education at Florida State University, he relocated and had to adjust to the icy weather conditions in Clarksburg, West Virginia where he worked at WDTV and served as a Chief Meteorologist.
He later relocated to Macon, Georgia where he covered numerous severe thunderstorms and was even able to chase Hurricane Floyd up the Georgia coast. Additionally, he was awarded the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval while he was in Macon. He spent three years in Carolinas and during this time he developed more tropical experience by covering several storms.
Furthermore, a poll in the local newspaper, The Morning News named him “Best of the Pee Dee” runner-up. On arrival in Baltimore, he was able to forecast for three different stations every night. During this time he covered tornadoes, heat waves, and snowstorms all on the same night.
He did live coverage of Hurricanes Dennis and Charlie despite the fact that he was miles away in his Baltimore studio. During his downtime, he enjoys surfing and going to the beach, and he is a member of the Surfrider Foundation. He is the first meteorologist in the area to start up a surfing blog. Additionally, he enjoys hiking, finding new outdoor adventures, especially on the water, and playing golf, as long as they don’t keep score.
