Williams serves WPTV as an anchor. He joined the station in March 2011 and has served the station for more than a decade. Previously, he served WFOR in Miami as a political reporter.

While he worked at WFOR, he covered both the 2008 and the 2010 political campaigns whereby he had the opportunity to have one-on-one interviews with; John McCain, Charlie Crist, Barack Obama, and many others. Additionally, he produced two half-hour specials, “Dreams of the American West”, and “Dreams of the Galapagos” which aimed at encouraging people to become more engaged in preserving our natural heritage.

He was a Washington, D.C.-based national correspondent from 2002-2004 where he worked for NBC NewsChannel. While he worked as the channel’s correspondent, he covered the build-up to the war in Iraq, the Columbia space shuttle tragedy, the White House, and Capitol Hill.

While he worked for WTVJ (NBC) from 1984 to 2006, he covered just about every major story that hit the Miami area, and also while he worked at WSVN (the Fox affiliate). Some of these stories include; Hurricane Andrew, the 2000 Florida presidential election controversy, the custody battle over Elian Gonzalez, the visit to Miami of Pope John Paul II, and the fall of Eastern Airlines.

Furthermore, he has credentials overseas as well as reporting from Panama, Haiti, Cuba, Colombia, and South Africa. In his broadcasting career, he has won eight Emmy awards as well as the privilege of being a recipient of the prestigious Dupont-Columbia Award for reporting he did in Haiti.

Additionally, for his outstanding work in South Florida for more than twenty-five years, the Suncoast Chapter of NATAS (the Emmy organization) with the Silver Circle award honored him. His TV career began in Fort. Pierce at WTVX, and this is not his first time working for Scripps, as he had previously worked for Scripps when he reported for two years for our Cincinnati station, WCPO. For his education, he attended and graduated from the University of Florida.
