In this role, he broadcast Final Fours and football National Championships. Also, he was part of the first broadcast team for the Columbus Blue Jackets, spending a decade with the NHL franchise.
Hogan then transitioned to news, with his career flourishing in a new direction as a morning news anchor with Angela An. Next, he moved to the weekend evening news, where he continued to establish his reputation as a trusted and dynamic anchor. He left Ohio in 2018 and joined WRAL-TV in Raleigh as a morning news anchor. There, he and his co-anchor were named Anchor Team of the Year in the Carolinas in 2024.
