Rossen received a Peabody award for his coverage of the events on the September 11th terrorist attack. Rossen started his career in broadcasting at WBLI-FM on Long Island, New York, working in radio. He later switched to local TV, initially as a reporter for WUTR-TV in Utica, New York.
