In July 1987, Jerry joined WVTM 13 from the Weather Channel. He formerly worked at Accu-Weather and WINK-TV in Fort Myers. Jerry has been selected UPI’s Best Weathercaster in Alabama and twice got the Associated Press’s Best Weathercaster award. He’s been nominated for an Emmy in the category of Best Weathercaster in the Southeast.

He was a member of the WVTM 13 News crew that won an Emmy for Best Newscast on two occasions. He’s also received the Seal of Approval for Television Weathercasting from the American Meteorological Society. Tracey continues to participate in community events. Since 1990, he has co-hosted the Children’s Miracle Network Broadcast every year, and he makes 50 appearances at area schools each year.
