While attending Mississippi State University, she was doing a storm chase to see severe weather up close, interning at the local TV station, working as a teaching assistant, and writing a thesis. After she had completed her education, she was able to secure a job in Cadillac-Traverse City where she worked at WWTV.

In addition, while she worked in the station, she forecasted a lot of lake effect snow, long winters, and lakes. Later on, she relocated to Colorado Springs to forecast the mountains. Furthermore, while she resided in Colorado, she covered a number of fires, droughts, floods, blizzards, and weather. During her leisure time, she enjoys coupons, puzzles, lakes, books, and traveling. In addition, she is looking forward to spending ample time with family and friends now that she is close to her home.
