While serving as a journalist, he has won the Georgia AP Sportscaster of the Year once, and the Georgia AP Sports Reporter of the Year award twice. Furthermore, he is also a Georgia AP Sports Photographer of the year’s award winner prior to holding many UPI Sportscasting Awards. In addition, he is a Youth Volunteer at First United Methodist Church and a Sunday School teacher.
