Her journalism career began at WMAZ-TV in Macon in 1989, where she served as a weathercaster and a community service director. She has been a participant in the in 1985 as Miss Brunswick-Golden Isles, she was 4th runner-up to Miss Georgia, in 1982 as Miss Macon, and participant in the Miss America Pageant System.
In 1998, she traveled to Japan to sing as a part of the Cherry Blossom Festival, performed at Six Flags Over Georgia and was a semi-finalist for Star Search in Atlanta. Furthermore, she did appear on BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel Hour and is a member of the Bob Cummings and Reflections Band.
She is an active member of the Bethel AME Church.
