The North Carolina native has spent most of his career working outside the state. He worked as an anchor and reporter in the “mid-Michigan” city of Saginaw, Michigan for three years. Additionally, he spent another 3 working as a multi-media journalist in the “Valley of the Sun,” Phoenix.
Lowe has covered everything, including wildfires, mountains of snow, and an 11-day span of shooting at vehicles on the interstate. These years taught him how to adapt to new places while developing knowledge of matters and stories significant to the citizens.
Lowe comes back to the Tar Heel State to broadcast the community he is passionate about. During the last 6 years, he broadcasted Hurricane Florence impacting the NC coast, the effects of gentrification in the ever-growing city of Charlotte, and social justice protests.
Lowe spearheaded broadcasts of the Charlotte City Council and the Mecklenburg County Commission. In 2019, he became an FAA-certified commercial drone pilot, allowing him to fly a drone to get aerial video for news stories. Since the fall of 2020, he has been working towards a private pilot’s license, training with a flight instructor out of Concord Regional Airport.

In 2016, Lowe was arrested for defecating in a suburban Arizona yard while he was on an assignment. Following the incident, he was dismissed from his job at KPHO-TV/KTVK-TV. At the time, he was covering the sacrificial slaying of a family pet by Patrick Zane Thompson, an ex-college football player.
Lowe told a policeman that he had been feeling under the weather and was in a van all day. So he went to relieve himself in the yard. According to a report by Officer David Mitterbauer, there was a store with a bathroom nearby. To which, Lowe countered that he couldn’t leave the scene. Thus, he was taken in for processing and mug shots.
Besides losing his job, the story went viral with a Friday link on the Drudge Report. The news director, Dan Wilson, didn’t comment on whether or not Lowe had a medical issue prior to the assignment. However, he did say that he was no longer a member of Meredith and that he couldn’t further comment on the issue since it was a personal matter. The yard’s owner, A.J. Silvia, commented that she would have let him use her bathroom if he had asked.
