Cozart works at KOIN 6 serving as a weekend evening meteorologist. Before joining KOIN 6, he worked at NBC 16 News and KVAL News in Eugene from July 2019 to December 2022. He joined the station as an Evening Meteorologist which he did for 9 months and was later promoted to chief meteorologist in March 2020 a position he held for two years up to December 2022 when he left the station. From May 2013 to March 2020, he worked as a Freelance Photographer where he shot and edited senior photographs, family portraits, and weddings.
Cozart worked at KHQA between May 2018 and July 2019 as a weekend meteorologist, reporter, and storm chaser. Prior to working at KHQA, he worked at WeatherNation serving as a producer and forecaster between February 2016 and April 2018. During his time at WeatherNation, he produced “WeatherNation Now” segments, and also served as a video editor and photographer. Moreover, he was a weather events reporter, and digital On-Air Forecaster for Alaska and Hawaii, travel, and extended forecast segments.
He previously worked at The Met Report based in Denver, Colorado serving as a general manager for Noticiero TVMET, and MSU Denver’s Student Media television news station between May 2014 and May 2016. Between September 2013 and April 2018, he served the station as a weather producer, anchor, and Multimedia Journalist.
Throughout his career as a journalist, Cozart has won several awards including the NW Emmy Award Anchor in Weather in July 2021, First Place Weather Coverage in April 2019, Honorable Mentioning News Photography, and Second Place in Small Market Television for Farm and Agribusiness.
Growing up, Cozart lived in many states including the Colorado Rockies, the Great Plains of Wichita, and Kansas. When they were living in Kansas, there was wild weather which made him want to become a meteorologist. When in fifth grade, there were tornadoes and lightning which he feared but that fear quickly turned into a fascination after surviving a night of severe weather in a tent. He spends his leisure taking photos of Mt.Hood, Washington coast, and the beautiful views of Oregon.
