At the age of 15, Loos began her journalism career where she wrote for her hometown newspaper entitled The Huntington Beach News. She covered local celebrities, touring bands like U2, news of the week, and the local surf scene. Loos moved to radio news during college and was also a DJ based in Southern California.

After graduating, she stayed in Southern California for a few years and later got a job serving as an on-camera meteorologist in San Diego. She was also a meteorologist and an airborne traffic reporter. She later got a job as a TV meteorologist at KBCI (Boise, ID) and WBIR (Knoxville, TN). She later moved to Seattle where for three years she worked at KING 5 and NWCN. After three years in Seattle, she moved to Portland.

In March 2008, Loos joined KEX radio where she spent 4 years as an anchor and covered several stories including the Flight of Friendship to Japan. This coverage earned her an Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Series in 2012. Being a field reporter and meteorologist, Loos covers all weather events from ice storms, to deadly tornado outbreaks, and “thundersnow.” In February 2019, she won an Emmy for her live weather coverage of the closure of I-84.
