In November 2018, Kristi joined the FOX40 News crew. Gross was born and raised in Stockton. She is an alumnus of Lincoln High School, where she discovered her passion for journalism working on her school’s newspaper.
Kristi began her career as a reporter for KXXV, Central Texas News, after graduating from California State University Northridge. She covered the deadly West fertilizer plant explosion and recovery, the Waco motorcycle gang shootout, a mass shooting at Fort Hood, and Baylor University’s new McLane Stadium construction and opening while in Waco.
Kristi rose up the ranks to become the Weekend Anchor. Following her tenure at KXXV, Kristi relocated to Fort Myers, Florida, to work for WINK News as a Charlotte County Bureau Multimedia Journalist/Reporter. Kristi covered a range of topics over her three years at WINK.
For instance, Hurricane Irma, the Red Tide problem, and the construction and installation of a Vietnam Memorial replica wall, as well as learning to fly a plane for a story. Despite her several cross-country moves, Kristi’s objective was always to return to California. When Kristi isn’t working, she’s probably spending time with her family, and friends, or getting another stamp on her passport.
Kristi is a globetrotter who has visited five of the world’s seven continents. She just got back from an African safari. She’s also visited 15 countries, including a semester spent studying abroad in Gold Coast, Australia.
