Eric Harryman Career

Harryman serves FOX40 as an anchor on weekdays on FOX40 News at 5, 6, and 10 p.m. alongside Nikki Laurenzo, Kristina Werner, and Jim Crandell. Previously, he chased TV news all over the country for more than a decade.

On a side note, he’s a native of Northern California, having grown up in Santa Rosa, so reporting on what’s going on in Sacramento is as close to ‘home’ as possible. Working in live TV is one of those careers that require passion to do it right. Further, he would like to think he is a pretty easy-going guy, but when big news happens, that sort of goes out the window and that’s what he loves most about what he does.

One of his duties is to figure out what’s important and most impactful to most people and report it in a responsible way. Additionally, he says; Working on TV all over the country (California, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Virginia, Florida) has left him with a unique view of the world he has experienced, but no matter where you live one thing stays the same: Everyone has a story, let them tell it.

In 2002 he had the opportunity to work for International Sports Broadcasting at the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. Moreover, he was new to the state and city and he was doing a live TV interview with the mayor. Not only does he call him the name of the mayor from his previous TV market, but he got so flustered on the air that he couldn’t remember his name at all. Really? Seriously? A sad moment for him, for sure.

In addition, he won a team Emmy for Best Newscast. Beyond the cameras, trophies and big interviews are the rest of his life.
Also, he is a fanatic about health. The gym long runs, and healthy eating is a way of life for us. Furthermore, he has also gotten a pretty strong case of OCD. Sometimes, he thinks he drives himself crazy, but that’s another story for another day.
