After college, Kristian has covered national news stories about extreme weather (including destructive tornadoes where her work contributed to an Emmy award for the station), fires, state politics, and presidential elections at the Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. In addition to Good Morning America, World News Tonight, and The Rachael Ray Show, she went behind the scenes of ABC’s hit soap opera, One Life to Live.

For her reporting on community education in 2011, Kristian was inducted into The Ohio School Board Association Media Hall of Fame and won the Media Achievement Award from the Northwest Ohio Black Media Association in 2009. In 2007, she won the prestigious Toledo 20 under 40 awards and won a Telly and Associated Press Award.

Kristian, a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., is a committed business leader and community advocate who often promotes professional growth and meaningful choices to girls and women’s groups. She serves on the Board of Directors for Blessings of Disguise and previously served on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Northwest Ohio.
