In the year 2021, she helped with a special TV show called “KCRG-TV9 News at 6 pm: The Funeral of Sgt. Jim Smith”, which won a regional Emmy. When she was working as a reporter, she reported on many murder trials, important news stories, and what happened afterward.
In the year 2022, she conducted many interviews, and one of them included; an interview with a woman who survived an attack by someone accused of being a killer in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. That story won the 1st prize for General Reporting at the Iowa Broadcast News Association awards. Also, in the same year, Rogers was at a place soon after a big explosion happened in Marengo where a lot of people got hurt. The news team’s work about the explosion and what happened next won KCRG a special award called the regional Edward R. Murrow.
Before joining KCRG, she worked for Hibu, a digital marketing company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as an inside sales for 2 years and 3 months (August 2018 – October 2020). Before that, she worked for KWWL-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as a bureau reporter for 3 years and 4 months (May 2015 – August 2018). While there, she reported on many major stories such as the 2016 flooding catastrophe and the Iowa caucus. There she also served as a contributor to the regional Emmy-winning 6 PM newscasts.
While in college, Rogers worked for KETV in Omaha, Nebraska as an intern for 1 summer. There she served in the department of sports and she was among the 1st to cover the College World Series. Also, Rogers served as a regular contributor to the ESPNU Campus Connection program. There her coverage was about the behind-the-scenes of college athletes. Also, Rogers got to follow Mike Tirico at a Nebraska basketball game, which was a really special experience.
During her spare time, she likes to go on runs, kayak, shop, root for the Huskers, hang out with her loved ones, try new local restaurants, put outfits together, or golf. In the realm of running, she calls herself a “retired track & xc athlete” on her social media platforms.
