Acevedo’s journey in journalism started with internships at NBC News, where she served as an NBCightly News Intern for nine months from September 2012 to May 2013 and as a Dateline Intern for four months from February 2012 to May 2012. She also gained experience as a Sports Intern at ABC Channel 7 from February 2011 to May 2011.
Prior to her work as a reporter, Acevedo was with Entravision Communications, where she worked as a Reporter/Anchor from October 2013 to May 2015. She also gained experience in the field as an Editorial Assistant at NBC News in the Greater Los Angeles Area for four months in 2013.
During her time at KERO-TV, Acevedo covered significant national breaking news events such as the Erskine fire, the San Bernardino mass shooting, and the UC Merced stabbing incident. Her initial reporting job was in Laredo, Texas, where she focused on reporting about cases of corruption involving county and city officials and the immigration crisis across the border. Additionally, she had the opportunity to interview Greg Abbott (Texas Governor) and Ted Cruz (then-presidential candidate).
When it comes to her education, Acevedo is a proud alumnus of the University of La Verne, where she attended from 2009 to 2013.
