Her career started at WMBD-TV in Peoria, Ill where she served as a reporter. A year later, she was able to secure a job in Portland, Ore at KGW-TV. Later on, she was named the first Asian-American television reporter in Cleveland at WJW-TV, and not long after she left for Tampa, Fla where she served as an anchor and reporter at WTSP.
Furthermore, she has worked at ABC News and the BBC as a freelance correspondent. In 2001, she relocated back to Cleveland television and worked at WOIO-TV where she served as an anchor. For her outstanding work and her energetic personality, she has been awarded five Emmy awards; for her anchoring and reporting roles on 3News, for Best Spot News Reporting, and earned Emmy nominations for her investigative reporting.
In addition, two Associated Press awards have been given to her for; Feature Reporting and Best News Writing. Chicago is her birth home and Louisiana was where she was raised before her parents moved to Northeast Ohio. Furthermore, she is a Kappa Alpha Theta sorority member.
