Before joining FOX Weather, she served at WPIX – PIX11 as a traffic anchor for the Weekday Morning News, airing from 4:30 to 9 a.m. and also delivering the weather from 4:30 to 6 a.m. In 2008, Marissa joined WCIA 3 News in Central Illinois, a CBS affiliate, as a reporter. As a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor, she spent three years in the Springfield and Champaign-Urbana newsrooms.

After that, she went west to KOB-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to write on the Land of Enchantment. Marissa flew all over the state, mostly to cover up the huge wildfires that threaten the country so much. In 2012, as a morning anchor at KOAA in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Marissa declined an invitation. She even managed her own fitness franchise, “Your Healthy Family,” during her time there.

When coming to her education, she attended the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), where she graduated with a minor in Spanish with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology zoology. It was not until her junior year that she discovered her true love was storytelling, so she transferred to Syracuse University’s Newhouse Program.
