She was presented with the Ellis Island Honor Society’s Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2016.

The Medal has been formally recognized as one of the most prestigious honors in our country by both Houses of Congress and is memorialized in the Congressional Record annually. By Moves Magazine, she was named a Power Woman in 2015 for her efforts both on-air and in the neighborhood.

Tamsen works for a variety of charitable groups, including SHARE Cancer Help, North Shore Animal League America, and the Ackerman Family Institute. She serves on the boards of non-profit organizations, including the New York Best Buddies and Adjust Group Network.

Tamsen has recently published three books, including The New Single: Finding, Fixing and Falling Back In Love With Yourself,” which aims to help women recover with trust, grace, and a blueprint for self-care from a significant life transition.

She has a passion for inspiring women and is writing her fourth book at the moment. For The Broadway Channel, which airs on WPIX and around the country, Tamsen is the executive producer and host of ‘Broadway Profiles with Tamsen Fadal’. Tamsen made her Broadway debut in “Chicago The Musical” as a lifetime theater lover, followed by on-stage roles in “In the Heights” and “Rock of Ages” on Broadway.

Prior to joining WPIX, Fadal worked in New York City for WCBS-TV, Philadelphia, PA for KYW-TV, and Orlando, Florida for WFTV-TV. When coming to her education, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism from the University of South Florida. She’s a New York City native.
