His dad played a big role in fueling his interest in weather, teaching him how to check radar, follow local weather forecasts, and explain basics like why seasons change. All of that led him to choose a career in meteorology.
Eventually, after spending 2 years at the University of Oklahoma, DiLoreto thought it would be better for him to be closer to his roots. So, he moved back to Connecticut and completed his last two years of college, which also had a great meteorology program. He really likes summer, but he also enjoys some winter sports like skiing, and he’s a big fan of snow in general. That’s probably why he feels so comfortable in New England because the changing seasons always give him something to look forward to.
