He heads up the skilled First Warning weather team, making sure they cover a big area that includes northern New York, Vermont, and parts of western New Hampshire.
Before Jankoski started at WPTZ and Hearst Television, he was at WVIT in Connecticut, where he got really good at quickly reading advanced weather radar in a fast-paced and competitive market. Before that, Jankoski had the luck to begin his career at WGGB/WSHM, the CBS, ABC, and FOX affiliates serving the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts.
Jankoski has won quite a collection of awards, not just for being a great meteorologist but also for doing awesome stuff in the community. He’s got an NBCUniversal GEM (Going the Extra Mile) Award and even scored the Little League Baseball East Region Director’s Award for Volunteer of the Year. And guess what? In addition to being a meteorologist, Jankoski is a dedicated volunteer. Since the year 2004 (every summer), Jankoski has been giving his time at the Little League Baseball East Region Tournament. He really cares about his volunteer gig and likes doing the public address announcing and handling all the behind-the-scenes stuff during the week-long event in early August. Over the years, the tournament has welcomed many teams from the Burlington area. Jankoski is actively involved in the AMS – American Meteorological Society, and he is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist.
