Maurice Richard Povich was born on January 17, 1939, in Washington, D.C., United States. Maury started his career as a radio reporter, working for WWDC at first. Maury rose to national prominence as the host of Fox’s New York flagship station WNYW’s tabloid infotainment TV show A Current Affair in the late 1980s. He co-produced his own show, The Maury Povich Show, in 1991, which was renamed Maury in 1998.

Maury Povich Career
Povich’s first employment was at Washington, D.C.-based radio station WWDC, where he worked as a reporter and conducted publicity.
