After a major hail storm struck his home in the early 1980s, he started to follow the weather closely, causing considerable neighborhood damage. For more than 20 years, the most memorable is Moore’s Tornado on May 3, 1999, Mike chases storms in Oklahoma.

Every spring, Mike joined FOX 25 weather team and gave live photos of tornados to FOX 25 viewers. Further,  he provided coverage for big winter storms and wildfires. Mike likes to take part in weather events in Oklahoma with other FOX 25 employees who teach people about weather security.
