In the year 2016, he went to Cleveland, Ohio to report on the Republican National Convention, and 5 years later, he was in Phoenix covering the Milwaukee Bucks NBA championship run.
Paolantonio was among the WISN team that went to Washington D.C. on the 50th Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. There they made a documentary of the journey as veterans from WWII (World War 2), Vietnam, and Korea took a free, 24-hour trip to see the memorials made for them. Paolantonio and his team also created a 60-minute TV special, which was hosted and written by Paolantonio. Along with the documentary, WISN organized a fundraiser to send more veterans on a Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
Paolantonio worked for WOLO-TV in Columbia, South Carolina as a photojournalist, news reporter, and news anchor, prior to joining WISN-TV. Throughout his journalism career, he has won several honors and awards for his outstanding reporting and anchoring work. He was a 2019 nominee for an Emmy Award – this was for the documentary “Honor Flight 50: A Mission of Thanks”. Paolantonio has also earned recognitions from the WBA – Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and the AP – Associated Press for his remarkable reporting work. Additionally, Paolantonio has contributed to coverage that won a Chicago/Midwest Emmy and a regional Edward R. Murrow Award.
