Along with the documentary, WISN organized a fundraiser to send more veterans on a Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.

Paolantonio worked for WOLO-TV in Columbia, South Carolina as a photojournalist, news reporter, and news anchor, prior to joining WISN-TV. Throughout his journalism career, he has won several honors and awards for his outstanding reporting and anchoring work. He was a 2019 nominee for an Emmy Award – this was for the documentary “Honor Flight 50: A Mission of Thanks”. Paolantonio has also earned recognitions from the WBA – Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and the AP – Associated Press for his remarkable reporting work. Additionally, Paolantonio has contributed to coverage that won a Chicago/Midwest Emmy and a regional Edward R. Murrow Award.
