Pete Gallivan Career

He attended the Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts and later on, he joined The College at Brockport where he majored in Communications. In addition, while he was at Brockport he participated in sports such as hockey and soccer.

 His journalism career started in Brockport where he worked at a small, day-timer radio station in 1987. He also worked as a disc jockeyed, and salesperson, and eventually, he secured a job at WASB where he served as a News Directo. He later discovered his passion for visual storytelling while he worked in Canandaigua, Warsaw, and Rochester on local radio.
WGRZ-TV called upon him in 1996 to work for them and ever since he has served in posts such as weekend anchor, a general assignment reporter, and as a Daybreak anchor. His journalism career has won him two Emmy Awards, an Associated Press Award, a regional Edward R. Murrow Award. In addition, he was among the Daybreak team that won an Emmy for best morning newscast.
