Albrecht re-joins KSTP with about 25 years of journalism experience. Before re-joining the station, he worked for Mobile County as a Director of Marketing & Economic Development. There he was responsible for Airbus recruitments, as well as different other industries to Mobile.

Albrecht started working for WKRG (his first stint) in the year 1990 and assisted in the launch of News 5 at 5 PM after 6 years at the station. For 7 years (2000 to 2007), he worked for the NBC affiliate in Mobile as a lead news anchor managing editor. Albrecht started his TV career at WKBT-TV in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he worked as a news anchor/reporter. He has also worked as a news anchor/reporter for WFTC-TV in St. Paul/Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Over the years of his career, he has reported on many stories on the Gulf Coast and in Mobile, Alabama. Some of these stories include Mobile City Hall, the Alabama State Legislature, and SEC and local sports, as well as Hurricanes; Erin, Danny, Opal, Georges, Katrina, and Ivan.

During his leisure time, he likes to play baseball in the men’s league of Mobile, Alabama, cheering for the Minnesota Vikings, and hanging out with his friends and family. Albrecht is part of the oldest documented fantasy football leagues in Alabama.

Also, Albrecht gave his time to local charities. Recently, he joined the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign as a local leader.
