San Francisco is his birth home and later he was brought up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Furthermore, he resided in the San Joaquin Valley, and the greater Los Angeles area for a number of years, but most importantly most of his life was spent in Central California.
He attended San Jose State University where he attained a Bachelor of Science in meteorology. After his graduation, he headed off to the wind energy business, and while he was there he installed meteorological towers in the Republic of Chile, Montana, North Dakota, and California.
In addition to meteorological consulting, he provided operational forecasts for wind energy and other businesses. His television career began at KPIX in San Francisco where he served as a weather producer and he worked behind the scenes forecasting and creating graphics.
Furthermore, he has worked at Weather Central Inc. in Madison Wisconsin and while he was on the station he traveled to TV stations all across the United States and Canada installing and training TV weathercasters to use weather modeling equipment and graphics software. During his leisure time, he enjoys barbecuing, fishing, camping, and biking.
