There he specialized in Civil Rights and Constitutional Law. Mitchum has recently starred in the series “Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard” (Season 2). He is the CEO and founder of a Black queer-owned consulting firm, PDM Consulting LLC. The firm is centered on the progress and power of young folks, LGBTQ+ individuals, and Black people. Mitchum is an activist and strong advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. He has made appearances as a contributor on cable news shows and many media outlets have published him for his legal and political expertise.
From May 2012 to September 2012, he served at the National Coalition for LGBT Health as a Behavioral Health Initiative Fellow. From April 2013 to March 2014, Mitchum worked at the Center for American Progress as a Policy Analyst for Racial Justice and LGBT Policy. Mitchum has also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies.
Mitchum has worked as a Judicial Law Clerk at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. He has also worked for the Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE) as a Senior Policy Analyst. He has served the Advocates for Youth as a Senior Legal and International Policy Analyst for nearly 2 years. Mitchum has also served at Unite for Reproductive Gender Equity (URGE) as the Director Of Public Policy for 2 years.
Mitchum was the 1st Chair of the Washington Bar Association Young Lawyers Division to be open and confident about being part of the LGBT community. Washington Blade has honored him with the title of DC’s Most Committed Activist. The National LGBTQ+ Bar Association recognized Mitchum as the Best LGBTQ Lawyers Under 40.

“Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard” is a series about 11 friends who go on a fun vacation to an island, in Martha’s Vineyard’s historical Oak Bluffs area. They have parties on the beach and eat fancy dinners, and some of them start romantic relationships. These friends are Black professionals and business owners.
In the series, the friends have known each other for a long time and they are excited to have a good time together. They will try new things and have exclusive experiences while also facing and overcoming their personal problems. Some of the people are new to the area while others have lived there all their lives. They all live together in a place where they can play at the beach. They start to have problems with their friendships. Some people get jealous and other people are not sure if they can trust their friends.
