Chou serves at WRAL as a News Reporter and Morning and Noon News Anchor. Raleigh has captured her heart and she now considers it her fortress. In October 2004, she began her career at WRAL where she served as a morning news anchor, working from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. She rose through the ranks to become the weekend morning and evening anchor. She became the weekday morning anchor in 2014, and in 2016, she added the noon news to her responsibilities.

Before joining WRAL, she worked as an anchor and reporter for KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa… and KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri. She won three Regional Emmys for her work at WRAL, including one for General Assignment in 2015. Her coverage of Hurricane Sandy on the Outer Banks won her a Regional Emmy for Weekend Newscast and an NC Associated Press Broadcast Award for “Best Weather Reporting.”

In 2013, she was awarded a Regional Emmy for News Special for her coverage of the Kathy Taft murder trial. She was most recently nominated for a Regional Emmy for Best Morning Newscast in 2020. The Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas, the Iowa Associated Press Broadcasters Association, and the Missouri Broadcasters Association have all recognized her work.

She enjoys tennis, cycling, beach visits, and curling up with a good book. While she has never walked, she enjoys a strong cardio, barre, or kickboxing workout. Musicals have been her obsession! She used to play the piano, as well as perform and teach traditional Chinese dance. Every year, she enjoys hosting hundreds of community activities, such as marches, runs, concerts, and panel discussions. She also enjoys going to schools to read to children, answer questions about the news industry, and explain why she enjoys working as a television journalist.
