In 2010, he also completed the Harvard National Preparedness Leadership Initiative Program. Robert has previously created two award-winning weekly science series, “Science 2” and “Safety Afloat,” as well as a summer boating safety series.
Robert has a colorful experience in the entertainment world, having spent over 20 years both behind and in front of the camera. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity Association. He received his theatrical training under Sanford Miesner at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre, and has been in a number of stage productions, including Off-Broadway versions of “New Moon” and “Mikado.”
Appearances on “Magnum P.I.” and “Kojak” are among his television credits. As a professional actor, Robert has played Sgt. Wayne Von Clasen in the films “The Big Miracle” and “The Frozen Ground,” both of which were shot in Alaska. Robert recently retired as a Captain from the Coast Guard Reserve after more than 30 years of service. He has worked in emergency management, oil spill response, and homeland and marine security initiatives for almost 25 years.
