Patrick Enslow Career
Enslow serves KTUU as a 4 p.m. news anchor and a multimedia journalist at Alaska’s News Source. Before, he served the station as a sports director. He joined the station in May 2015 and has served the station for more than half a decade. Previously, he served KDVR FOX31 Denver as a news intern. He began his career in journalism, after his graduation from Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
Patrick grew up in Alaska, where he enjoyed baseball at South Anchorage High School (go Wolverines! ), climbing, fishing, and the many other activities that come with growing up in the 49th state. He claims that a quarrel with a teacher prompted him to abandon his junior high school’s news program and that his career in broadcast journalism nearly ended before it began.
Fortunately, he says, the spark that drew him to the program as a teenager was reignited in college. Patrick began working at CTV, the college news station, as a reporter and anchor after deciding to pursue a degree in broadcast journalism. CTV gave me the chance to cover a wide range of issues, including the 2014 Colorado election, First Lady Michelle Obama’s visit to Fort Collins, and the 2014 Colorado State football season.
Patrick prioritized journalism throughout his junior year at CSU, even throughout the summer months. He did a summer internship at KTUU, where he gained field experience working alongside veteran reporters and photographers. During his final semester of college, Patrick worked as an intern at KDVR FOX 31 in Denver. He belongs to the Society of Professional Journalists as well.
Patrick says working for Channel 2 News is like going home because he grew up watching KTUU with his family every evening before supper. Enslow is excited for the chance to go across his home state and tell Alaska’s narrative.
