He has worked for more than three decades in both radio and television thus earning him top honors for being the region’s #1 meteorologist. Furthermore, in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and helped plot the movement of the dryline as a part of a team of Research Students from Texas Tech University. In addition, the American Meteorological Society honored him in 1992 with its Seal of Approval, and is a full member of the American Meteorological Society.
In 2011, he appeared in a BBC Climate Change Special, and in 2012, on a Discovery Channel Climate Change Special. Furthermore, together with Texas Tech University with Dr. Katharine Hayhoe, and KAMC TV in 2011, they hosted a Challenging Climate forum on the campus of Texas Tech University. In addition, in West Texas, he is the only Broadcast Meteorologist who has made extended climate forecasts and emphasizes the conservation of resources as a part of his nightly weather forecast updates.
