He has worked as a news reporter for WCBS in New York City (from 1982 to 1983). From the year 1983 to 1987, he was the Consumer, medical, and investigative reporter at WESH in Orlando, Fl.
In Sept. 1987, he returned to WKYT as an early and late-night news anchor. Sam has anchored all-day coverage of the crash of Flight 5191, all elections since 1987, and field anchored UK Final Four coverage since 1993, including the last 3 United Kingdom National Championships. Winner of Edward R. Murrow Awards, and 5 Regional Emmy Awards. During his leisure, he likes fishing, exercising, and traveling across the United States and the world.
