Detrow serves as a a White House correspondent for NPR and co-hosts the NPR Politics Podcast. He got his start in public radio at Fordham University’s WFUV. In 2015, Detrow joined NPR. He covered the 2016 presidential election, then spent two years as a legislative correspondent before returning to the campaign trail to cover the Democratic presidential campaign in 2020.

Prior to joining NPR, Detrow worked as a statehouse reporter for member stations WITF and KQED in Pennsylvania and California. He also covered energy policy for NPR’s StateImpact project, winning a DuPont-Columbia Silver Baton and a national Edward R. Murrow Award in 2013 for his reporting on Pennsylvania’s hydraulic fracturing boom.
