He grew up in the heart of tornado alley and experienced all the weather extremes of Oklahoma, including the May 3rd, 1999 Oklahoma tornado outbreak. He always aspired to be a meteorologist. Nehrenz is a re-founding father and a member of Pi Kappa Phi – Alpha Gamma Chapter.
