Steve Beylon Education
Beylon joined Valparaiso University in September 1993 after completing his high school studies. In May 1997, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism.

After a little over 4 years, Beylon was promoted to weekday morning meteorologist. He held the role for almost 7 years and was promoted to his current role in June 2017.
Before moving to Green Bay, Beylon tracked everything from tornadoes to blizzards for six years at KSNT in Topeka, Kansas. He also spent almost two years as a weather forecaster at WICU 12News in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Beylon’s love for the weather started during the 3rd grade, having grown up in Hillsdale, New Jersey. He recalls watching New York Yankees games on TV with his parents on their screened-in porch. Storms would roll in, and the thunder would really roar on some nights.
The East Coast thunderstorms weren’t big enough for his taste, so he attended college in Indiana. Since then, he has earned the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation from the American Meteorological Society.
Beylon works as a member of the National Weather Association. He feels privileged to have a job that he would otherwise consider a hobby. Over the years, he has visited hundreds of elementary and middle schools, teaching children about storms and severe weather safety. The Wisconsin Society Of Science Teachers (WSST) granted him the 2018 “Friend Of Science” Award.
