Steve Harrigan is now a Fox News Channel journalist located in Atlanta (FNC). As a Moscow-based correspondent, he joined the network in 2001. Harrigan most recently anchored FNC’s live coverage of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine from the ground in Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital.

He covered the Surfside, Florida condominium collapse in June of 2021, a 12-story oceanfront structure in the Miami neighborhood. Previously, as part of FNC’s Democracy 2020 election coverage, he offered the most up-to-date election news from Florida.

During his time at FNC, Harrigan covered a wide range of national and international stories, including the nationwide protests following the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, MN, protests in Brazil following the death of Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the Middle East’s ongoing War on Terror, Mexican drug cartel violence, and the Cuban economy.

In addition, he covered the horrific terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13th, 2015, live from France. Previously, Harrigan covered the demonstrations and investigation into Michael Brown’s killing live from Ferguson, Missouri. In addition, he covered the 2014 Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 tragedy live from Donetsk, Ukraine.

During the search for the fourth terrorist suspect in the alleged plot to assault the fuel delivery system at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport in 2007, Harrigan reported from Trinidad. Prior to that, he reported extensively from Gulfport, MS on Hurricane Katrina and from Afghanistan on Operation Enduring Freedom shortly after 9/11.

Prior to joining FNC, he spent ten years as a CNN correspondent located in Moscow, where he covered the resignation of Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev in 1991 and the Chechen War from inside the Kremlin. On March 21, 2011, CNN international correspondent Nic Robertson slammed Harrigan’s coverage of Operation Odyssey Dawn and reports that the Libyan regime utilized foreign journalists as human shields against a coalition airstrike on Mummar Gaddafi’s Tripoli stronghold. Harrigan’s refusal to participate in a trip organized by the Libyan government to investigate the attack site sparked the dispute. Instead of Harrigan, the Fox News team sent a non-editorial member of their staff, according to Robertson.
