Savard is a prominent American sports anchor and former “Voice of the St. Louis Rams,” serving in that role from 1999 to 2015. Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Savard attended Parkway North High School and later pursued degrees in English and journalism at Northwest Missouri State University, graduating in 1986. Throughout his career, he has garnered six Emmy Awards, including recognition for best sportscaster.
In February 2013, Savard transitioned from sports to become a news anchor, co-anchoring the 10:00 p.m. edition of News 4 at KMOV in St. Louis. He later expanded his role to include the 6:00 p.m. newscast. Taking over as the “Voice of the Rams” in 1999, Savard held the prestigious position until the team’s relocation back to Los Angeles in 2015. He was succeeded by J. B. Long.
Unfortunately, Savard was among the individuals laid off from KMOV on September 17, 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he later assumed the role of Lead Anchor at KOLR10 news in Springfield, Missouri, starting on May 14, 2021.
