Staudt serves at WILX as a Sports Co-Director. The year 2022 marks his 53rd year in broadcasting, the longest in the history of Michigan. He hosts “In My View,” a show that airs on WILX at 6 PM and 11 PM. In addition to that, WILX-TV added Thursday’s Staudt’s Rising Starts to publicize youngsters just getting involved in sports. Over the year with the station, he has served as a host of multiple coaches’ shows. He has been on every CMN Telethon since the year 1989 when it started. 

Besides working for WILX, Staudt also hosts “Staudt,” the longest-running show in the history of Michigan radio, on Sports radio, WVFN AM 730. He has been a member of the Greater Lansing Sports Hall of Fame since the year 2003. Staudt has worked for WSYM TV in Lansing, Michigan. 

Throughout Staudt’s career, he has earned a number of awards and honors. In the year 2019, he was inducted into the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He is also an honorary member of the MSU Michigan Marching Band. Staudt holds Sparrow Health System’s highest award, The Founders Award, which he received in the year 2010. In the year 2018, he was awarded the MSU School of Communications Distinguished Alumni Award, and in the year 2014, the Lansing Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Citizen’s Award.

Mentioning his education, he graduated from East Lansing High School in the year 1967 and then attended Michigan State University (MSU). He graduated from MSU in the year 1971 with a degree in Journalism. During his stint at MSU, e served as an anchor of all of the university’s basketball tournament specials, as well as Bowl game specials every year the teams have been involved.
