Before his role in Jackson, he was working with Hearst radio station WBAL NewsRadio 1090 in Baltimore, where he anchored and reported on afternoon newscasts. Before his work in Mississippi, Troy’s career spanned across Baltimore and Washington D.C.

In Baltimore, he co-hosted The Big Phat Morning Show on Radio One’s 92Q and hosted a self-named news and current affairs talk show on CBS’ FM Talk 105.7. He also served as the Executive Director of People 75, Baltimore’s public access television station. In Washington D.C., he worked as an air personality and news anchor at Howard University’s 96.3 WHUR and CBS’ All News 99.1 WNEW.

Troy began his career in Indianapolis at Power 105 WTLC, where he served as a board-op and production director under the guidance of his father. He transitioned into his first on-air role at Majic 108 in St. Louis. Originally from Chicago, Troy attended Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. He has held leadership positions such as a two-term President of ABMW, the Baltimore chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), and a Region II Director of NABJ.
